±1±: Best Buy My baby has loved this from the time she was about 6 six weeks and would lie underneath it and look at the toys and lights and listen to the music, to now when she is 6 months and likes to roll around under it, sit on the side and play with the giraffe and lie on her stomach and study the patterns. For me it has given me the opportunity to put her down, knowing she will be happy for around twenty minutes, and I'll have the chance to get something done. However, shop around. The price for this toy varies a lot! on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy My husband and I recently purchased this mat for our ten-week-old baby girl. She's our first child, so we've spent HOURS researching various items while trying to choose well. There were an overwhelming amount of choices, and we looked at everything from Fisher-Price to Baby Einstein to off-brand products.
Long story short, she LOVES her new play area. Like other reviews mention, there are a lot of interactive pieces. We can move around the individual toys which is really helpful depending on her mood and movement - we can strategically place the rattle pieces or move the harder plastic toys away from her head and toward hands or feet.
The best part for our daughter is the canopy's lights and sounds. She's fascinated watching the different colors flash. She also enjoys the butterflies hanging from the top. As for the sounds, it's not nearly as bad as we were dreading. The baby songs have a kickier, island feel to them. (If you've spent too much time listening to music on other baby items, you'll understand what I mean!) The setting with just nature sounds is also a nice change and still keeps her interested.
We do have a few minor criticisms... The "20 minutes" of music actually repeats some of the songs, but there's still a nice variety. Also, it takes C batteries which aren't the most common but fine if you know to plan for that. It's portable but not quite as easily moved as the pictures would have you think.
Overall, we're very happy with our purchase and would definitely choose this one again! on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy I purchased this activity mat from Amazon a few months ago for my son and while he loves the mat, I do have some lingering questions.
1. What caused the rainbow to shoot out of the giraffe's head? Does it hurt him? Is it indicative of a super power?
2. I can identify the monkey, the birds and the fish on the mat, but what are the other two animals? I suspected that one was a zebra, but my husband insists it is a snow tiger. That seems ridiculous...this is the jungle, people. The other one might be a cheetah, but it has hooves. I like to verbally label things as my son looks at them but these two have me stumped.
3. Why must I violate the giraffe, who already seems to be in some distress due to the rainbow situation, every time I need to replace the batteries?
On the bright side, I think this mat will come in very handy during lessons on tolerance and the ethics of scientific experimentation on animals.
